We advocate a simply joyful living that is called living in harmony with all communities of beings.

This blog is presented as the “Melanesian Way”, the Melanesian Approach to Peace and Harmony.

Melanesia is one of the world’s bio-diversity hotspots, with unique species found from the world’s largest and highest tropical island, through one of the most biologically rich oceanic archipelagos on Earth, to isolated oceanic islands with outstanding proportions of unique species. Papua New Guinea together with the West Papua region of Indonesia (New Guinea) make up a major tropical wilderness area that still contains 5% of the original and untouched tropical high-biodiversity terrestrial ecosystems. PNG in itself contains over 5% of the world’s biodiversity in less than 1% of the world’s total land area. PNG boasts some 15–21,000 higher plants, 3,000 species of orchids, 800 species of coral, 600 species of fish, 250 species of mammals and 760 species of birds and 8 species of tree-kangaroos^[4] out of which 84 genera of animals are endemic. <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservation_in_Papua_New_Guinea>

Melanesia is also the world’s bio-cultural hotspots, with diverse clans and ethic groups or tribes

Melanesian cultures dictate a strong duty to care for the environment from the top of the mountains to the seas, and recognize that the persistence of cultural practices depends on healthy resources built on the foundations of rich Melanesian biodiversity.

Spiritual Based Conservation for All Communities of Beings

We Melanesians promote “The Melanesian Way” of conservation and environmental protection as we are the ones who have successfully looked after and maintained the Isle of New Guinea with all its spiritual, biological and cultural diversity and richness and therefore, we are the one to speak the world in our own way about World Environmental Conservation based on Melanesian Philosophy: values, norms and systems.

One Melanesian story with varieties of lines across the South Pacific form what we can the “Melanesian Storylines”, parallel to that of the Aboriginal Song-lines.

The storylines is the compass and at the same time the map of the origin and destiny of Melanesian peoples as a whole, which also related to the world’s life and living history.

Without this centre of control life will go messy, and therefore, all tribes in Melanesian have what we call “kunu” or “Pilamo” or “Mbelamu” in West Papua, “Haus Tambaran” in Papua New Guinea or “Nakamal” in Vanuatu as the compass that controls the life and living…

Melanesian peoples think, speak, work and behave in a holistic cosmic view of this life and living.

1. Melanesians perceive spiritual world and physical world are equal and supplement each other.

2. Melanesians view dreamtime and awake time are a unit of time, equally important in this life.
